Our bike rental system is hosted by Bike Rental Manager. Through this, Stripe provide us with the online payment processor that allows us to sell bike hire services to you. Your payment data is stored within Stripe’s data storage. They store your encrypted data on a secure server behind a firewall.

When you pay us for bike hire using a card either online or in our store you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Stripe stores your card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data and card details are stored so that we can charge you if you fail to comply with our Terms and Conditions with regards to damages, loss or theft of a hire bike or late returns charges as well as making it quicker and easier to hire a bike from us in the future.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help to ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our business and it’s service providers.

For more insight you may also want to read Stripe’s privacy policy.
