Matt George - Pedal Progression

Matt George

Matt is one of the co-founders of Pedal Progression. He founded Pedal Progression back in 2012 with Sam Fowler.

Matt no longer works at Pedal Progression but his skills, knowledge, values and enthusiasm for riding continue to provide inspiration for the team and form the foundations of our coaching syllabus.

His riding CV goes back over eighteen years and includes three seasons instructing mountain biking in Canada, reviewing kit for a leading mountain bike magazine and riding from Lands End to John O’Groats off-road in the fastest recorded time. Matt also has a mountain bike endurance racing history with his best season in being 2011 when had not one finish outside the top ten. This was also the year he got his first 24 hour solo win. Still competing occasionally, these days, he’d rather ride for laughs than the clock.

His riding foundations are built solidly in the technical aspects of trials which he utilises throughout his popular and insightful courses. Matt’s positive attitude and determination to see success in others make him an instructor in demand.

If I didn’t ride bikes:
I’d get stoked on motorsport!

Riding food I can’t be without:
I always keep a Torq Rhubarb & Custard Gel tucked away ready to make me happy when the going gets tough… or the weather turns bad… or I get a flat… to be honest I don’t need much of an excuse to neck one!

One item I could do without:
The TV.

Trials or trails:
Trials to watch, trails to ride.

A dream for life:
Buy a plot of land, build a small sustainable home and live in it.
