Sam Fowler - Pedal Progression

Sam Fowler

Sam Fowler is one of the co-founders of Pedal Progression. Sam no longer works for Pedal Progression, but his skills, knowledge and passion for riding will always form part of the foundations of our coaching syllabus.

Sam is something of a hero within Bristol’s bike community! He is known for his insatiable appetite for mountain biking and his ability to ride with skill, precision and style. Sam has had results in downhill races across the UK but as much as he loves the gnarly side of riding he also enjoys long days in the saddle out in the wilderness. This was proven when he joined Matt on the much talked about off-road Lands End to John O’Groats ride in 2009. His personality always breathes passion and encouragement and his relaxed yet effective leadership style is popular amongst riders new and experienced.

Sam is a coach and guide at Pedal Progression

Favourite bike ever owned:
DMR Trailstar – I’ve owned two over the years and when my current one was stolen and then returned 3 months later by the North Somerset Constabulary it rated as an extremely good day indeed.

A guilty pleasure:
Regularly eating Soreen Malt Loaf straight up with no butter or toasting.

Best local spot to ride:
Belmont is the back yard where dreams are made! Further afield, off the beaten track wherever the trails are fresh and the loam is deepest – usually in the Mendip combes or around the Forest of Dean.

What makes me laugh:
Channel 4’s Peep Show.

I ride because:
It means I never get bored…
