2012 Pinnacle Iroko 2 Preview (post updated)

After meeting the head designer of Pinnacle Bikes, James Olsen at a recent trade show, we were sent the 2012 Pinnacle Iroko 2 to thrash and test!

James Olsen is an ex-employee of Genesis, and is responsible for the consistently praised ‘Core’ range. Now at Pinnacle, he’s been busy designing and speccing out every bike in their vast and seemingly competent range. The ‘Iroko 2’ is Pinnacle’s high end hardtail and will retail for £1200. The spec shows great value for money and includes a light weight frame with tapered head tube, Rock Shox Reba RL’s and a whole load of high end Shimano kit, including the naughty new SLX brakes and crisp feeling XT shifters. Our bike doesn’t have the wheels listed in the specification as it’s a pre-release. The production version will keep SLX hubs but they’ll be laced on to higher grade Mavic rims. I can say already that I’m really impressed with the Iroko 2 but I’ll post a full review once it’s been thrashed and caked in mud multiple times!

Pinnacle is part of Evans Cycles, and so Pinnacle bikes can only purchased through Evans stores.  Check out www.evanscycles.com to see the Iroko 2 and the rest of the Pinnacle range which includes everything from hybrids to carbon road bikes.

Our bike is a size Large (19″). If you book a session with us and would like to use it, let us know and we do our best to make it available to you.

UPDATE: The Full review on this bike can be found in issue 141 of ‘What Mountain Bike Magazine’ which is out on 23rd October 2012
