Your chosen course will take place on the date and time detailed on your confirmation email. Please be ready to ride from the Pedal Progression shop for the start of your session. If you’ve booked onto a public Fundamentals or Jumps and Drops day please ensure you arrive on time so we can start promptly.

Getting here

View our location here. Our address is: Pedal Progression, Ashton Court Cycle Hub, Off Abbots Leigh Road, Bristol, BS8 3PX.

Please be careful using satnav as the postcode is for the whole of Ashton Court estate and there are multiple entrances and 3 separate car parks. We are next to the golf course inside the top entrance, off Abbotts Leigh Road. If you’re approaching from the M5 jct. 19 then please be aware that you can’t turn right into the Estate at the traffic lights so instead must turn left and u-turn or approach from Bridge Road or Rownham Hill.

What to bring

All day parking is available for £1.20 outside the shop, there is a ticket machine that can take cash or online payment. We also have stands for locking your bike to if you want to ride here and hire a bike from us.

Additional members of your group will need to print out a copy of our health & safety and disclaimer form, fill it in and bring it with them. If they don’t have access to a printer, don’t worry, they can fill one out on the day but please leave time for this. Make sure everyone in the group brings any medication they need and that they know their emergency contact’s details so they can fill out the form correctly.

A working bike is a priority – make sure your bike has been serviced recently and that leaky brake or wobbly wheel is fixed before the day.

You must bring and wear a helmet at all times. You should also bring body armour, gloves and glasses if these are what you feel happy riding in.

Clip in pedals or flat pedals? – We always recommend flat pedals and leg/shin protection for learning new techniques, especially jumping. Please speak to us in advance if you wish to borrow some flat pedals for your session.

The session will go ahead rain or shine so dress for the weather. Bring sun lotion or layer up if the weather permits. Some coaching areas will be exposed. Plenty of water to drink, some lunch and snacks to keep you going are also essential. There is a cafe next door but it is often busy so if you’re booked on a full day session then we always recommend a packed lunch.

Your instructor will carry tools so unless you have specific needs for your bike then there is no need to weigh yourself down with steel! If you are unsure of exactly what to bring with you on your coaching course then please do not hesitate to contact us.
