Summer Solstice Shop Ride Report

This year we’ve started putting on a free shop ride every Thursday between 6pm and 8pm. The vision is simply to get different groups of people riding together. Those new to the sport, those who ride alone often, those who love riding but struggle to get out on their own and anyone else. For the Summer Solstice we put on a special 3 hour ride. With a sold out and mixed ability group we headed over to Bourton Coombe via some other great trails…

The trails were in prime condition and it was one of those warm evenings that you dream of throughout the winter months. We even bumped into a local trail builder putting the finishing touches to a new feature that Sam and one of the guys hit completely blind! Cheers Alex!

A few of the group got tired after covering over 10 miles and headed to the pub whilst the rest of us winched our way back up the climb for one more lap of the new trail that we’d show them for the first time. Everyone agreed that it was even better when you knew where you were going! Graham let us all have a go on his fat tyred electric bike on the way back up to Ashton Court too which was a bit of an eye-opener. Luckily he waited for us at the top of all the hills:)

Thanks to everyone who came along and we hope to see you all again. If you fancy coming out with us this summer then make sure you head over to the social ride page and book on asap! Every ride until the end of September is available for booking now for just £15 including bike hire and if you bring your own bike then we’ll refund you the full amount the day after the ride. We’ll aim to ride different trails each week and we can’t wait to show you our favourite local trails you’ve never heard of…
